Industry Estimates

These estimates provide employment data at what is called “the 6-digit” level. That is, the federal North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) that classifies industries within sectors. The estimates by county attempt to fill in where federal releases “suppress” data for industries. The estimates are produced for all counties in the US and are intended to provide sufficient detail for users to “cluster” industries into varying groups – such as life sciences of high tech.
